The Call
A calling from heaven, but no blinding light,
No Pauline encounter to give me new sight,
No lamplight from glory directing my ways,
No Bible verse leaping from out of the page.
But a steady conviction that won’t go away,
A nagging and tugging, a call to obey,
Uncertain, but confident. On the right track.
Confirmed by the evidence there looking back.
How do we measure the fruit of a call?
How can we tell if it’s great, or it’s small?
It’s not in a name or impression we leave,
It’s by who we’ve become more than what we achieve.
