Are you looking for some fresh inspiration? We have just the modules to help kick start your theological imagination. For fully accredited Baptist Ministers or full graduates from the College, we offer the opportunity to participate in our upper level classes on an auditing basis as part of CMD or continuous learning and development. (Please get in contact if you want to participate in our lower level classes on this same basis).
Auditing means you sit in on the class, participate in the discussion, but are not registered as credit bearing students.* We offer this at a minimal cost of £100 to cover admin and facility costs. Our students benefit from learned wisdom and we hope you benefit from some fresh thinking and the discipline of structured learning.
Starting in September 2026 we have the following classes at upper level:

Sermon on the Mount does pretty much what it “says on the tin”! It’s a module focused on the Sermon on the Mount combining biblical studies and ethics to ask how do we put into practice the challenging teaching of Jesus in our contemporary world? First, we need to understand the content of the sermon and then we need to consider how that works out in the everyday. A deep dive into one of the most important sermons in the Bible!
Delivered 10am-1pm on Tuesdays via hybrid delivery (on-campus and online simultaneously).
On Wednesdays the Reconciliation module is a challenging class spanning doctrine, ethics, and practice. It covers themes such as violence and non-violence, forgiveness and peace-making, and remembering and forgetting. It looks at approaches to atonement and theologies of sacrifice. Finally it puts all of these ideas into practical contexts such as post-genocide reconstructions, post-colonial reparations, and engaging with sectarianism in the present age.
Delivered 10am – 1pm on Wednesdays via hybrid delivery.

Scottish Christianity is a fast-paced canter through the history of Christianity in Scotland from the Celtic origins to the present day. It explores why the contemporary Christian landscape of Scotland is shaped the way it is and what that might look like in the future. It’s an ideal class to gain an insight into the Scottish context and will help you consider engagement within your local context.
Delivered 10am – 1pm on Thursdays via hybrid delivery.
If you are interested in any of these classes for CMD or for full credit, then please get in contact with our Academic Director, Graham by email graham.meiklejohn@uws.ac.uk or fill out the form below.
*Auditing participants do not complete assignments and are not registered students of the College / UWS so do not earn university credit for the module. While we will make core material available (PowerPoints / handouts), auditing participants do not get access to the VLE or digital library resources.
