This coming term we have a great mix of classes ranging from Church history to mission and from church practice to chaplaincy! Be sure to check them out and apply before Friday 17th January!

Baptist Perspectives on Being a Church looks at church practices such as baptism and communion and asks why do we do them in the way we do them…and why do some traditions do them differently! A mix of history, doctrine, and practice, this class takes a fascinating look at church life.

Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care covers the basic skills of pastoral care such as listening skills and how to deal with grief and considers them in the context of chaplaincy and the concept of spiritual care. A must for any one with pastoral care responsibilities especially for those working in the community.

Creative Mission in a Changing Culture looks primarily at the local church’s engagement with the world around it and asks how do we help the people on our doorstep? With a mix of cultural studies, missional reflection, as well as a biblical and theologically foundations of mission, this class is sure to challenge your thinking and practice.

Paul and the Gospel of Jesus investigates the presentation of the Gospel in Paul’s writings and compares it to the Gospel writers’ account of the life of Christ. A rigorous and in-depth biblical studies module that will bring helpful and challenging insights into the New Testament.

Scottish Christianity goes back to the early Celtic traditions to trace the development of church life in Scotland asking how did we end up here? Travelling through the Scottish Reformation to the contemporary church landscape, this module is a fascinating journey of discovery!

Practice of Youth and Community Ministry is part of our wider Youth and Community degree but can still be taken as an individual module. Designed to help practitioners reflect on their current practice or to equip those looking to serve in youth and community ministries.
