Dear Friends,
As we journey through the year, we’re already at our first Reading Week having completed 4 weeks of classes – the term goes by so quickly! The rhythm of second term is always a little different as the Youth and Community students split off into their specialist track and students are out on placements. While this means we’re not all together quite as often, it’s exciting to hear what our students are doing as they grow and develop skills in ministry. This year we’ve got a significant number of placement focusing on various aspects of church ministry with a healthy spread across other areas of ministry such as chaplaincy, charitable organisations, and youth work. While the placements are designed to be encouraging, please continue to pray for our students as many have chosen to challenge themselves in stretching environments and activities in order to better develop their ministry skills.

We’ve had some encouragement with student interest for next year and we appreciate everyone who talks about us, likes and shares on social media, and points people in our direction. We can’t thank you enough for this and we recognize the value it is to us. And while early signs are positive, we know that between now and the summer is vital for making connections with prospective students and helping them discern a good way ahead. Our approach is always to listen to prospective students to help them discover their call and ensure that we can help them reach their fullest potential while with us. Where we can, we like to have a conversation and, especially for on-campus students, have them visit our campus. In that light, we have one last On-campus Open Day this term, coming up in mid-April and we’d appreciate it if you would point any prospective students to join us that day. You can register for it by clicking here or pass on the link to anyone who might be interested.

By the time our next monthly update comes out our event to mark the 500-year anniversary of the Anabaptist movement will be over! It is being held on-campus in Paisley, on Wednesday, March 12th at 5:30pm where Rev. Dr. Ruth Gouldbourne will explore the legacy of the Anabaptist movement for contemporary life touching on themes such as toleration, women’s freedom, pacifism, and the place of experience in truth-telling. It promises to be an informative and thought-provoking event by one of the UK’s leading advocates of the Anabaptist movement. The event is free but ticketed so if you’re interested, please register as soon as you can via Eventbrite.

Once again many thanks for your support and prayers as we continue to fulfil our mission to equip people to participate in God’s Kingdom through the church and in the wider world.
