We’ve an exciting set of modules to kick off the new academic year in September 2024. We have three introductory modules for anyone looking to begin their journey whether that’s as a one-off module or as a way into degree studies. We also have three upper level modules that can be taken for Continuing Ministerial Development or for those looking to refresh their practice.
Introductory modules
Encountering the New Testament is an ideal starting point to dive deeper into the Bible. The module covers the basics of composition, construction, translation, and interpretation, while also giving you an appreciation of the overarching story of the New Testament.
On-campus (mornings) or online (evenings) on Tuesdays
The Practice of Preaching is primarily a module about gaining confidence in sharing the gospel. It’s not just about preaching in front of a church but learning models, techniques, and skills for communicating the Good News in whatever context you find yourself in. Ideal for new preachers or seasoned preachers wanting to reflect on practice and refresh their approach.

Living Justly in God’s World is a module that helps you wrestle with all the big questions in life. Why does God allow suffering? How do we approach the difficult ethical questions of our world? How can we tell the story of God well in our society? A fast-moving module to get the brain in gear!

Upper Level modules
Reconciliation is a thematic class that considers theological roots such as atonement and peace-making to consider real-world conflict and practices of reconciliation. It combines ethics, doctrine, and practice to consider questions such as how do we deal with difference in non-violent ways? How do we peacefully resolve conflict?
On-campus / online hybrid on Tuesday mornings
Sermon on the Mount combines ethics, biblical studies, and practice to dive deeper into a this central sermon narrative in Matthew’s Gospel. It is an excellent course for anyone wanting to explore just how revolutionary Jesus’ teaching was and how it can transform our own lives.
On-campus / online hybrid on Wednesday mornings
Creative Homiletics builds upon experiences of preaching to explore techniques and styles suited to a variety of contexts and expressions to enable the creative sharing of the Good News. This class is ideal for anyone with experience of preaching who wants to think creatively about refreshing their approach to public speaking.
