Dear Friends,
How did it get to August already? July passed so quickly that our monthly update is a little late! In part that’s because we try to practice what we teach and ensure we take some time to rest! July was a mix of activity and down-time combining marking, meetings with colleagues at the University, conferences, and rest. Now we’re back in full swing, everything turns towards preparation for the new academic year.
Starting in September, we have three excellent entry-level classes exploring biblical studies, church history, and applied practical theology. On Tuesdays we have Encountering the Old Testament; on Wednesdays the module is Turning Points in Church History; and on Thursdays we finish off the week with Christian Leadership. These classes are delivered on-campus during the daytime or online in the evenings. There’s something for everyone and delivered in an accessible way. As we get closer to September, we’re really keen to hear from anyone who wishes to study with us before the end of August. You can read more about all of our classes in September here.

We’re also offering our upper-level modules to any accredited ministers and/or graduates to either refresh knowledge or take new modules that have been added since they left. These can be audited (no assessment/limited access to resources) for £100.

Whether starting studies or returning to studies in September 2025, please email Graham Meiklejohn on graham.meiklejohn@uws.ac.uk for more information. Over the next few weeks, please keep spreading the word, liking and sharing on social media, and putting prospective students in contact with us.
Finally, we’re looking forward to the year ahead and there are lots of exciting plans in motion which we’ll let you know about as the year goes on. But please continue to remember us in prayer. As you’ll likely be aware from the news over the past year, Higher Education institutes and many universities across the UK are in a difficult place – we feel for many of our colleagues in the wider university amid the current pressures. Theological and ministry training also has its difficulties and many of you will have heard about the closure of Spurgeon’s College in recent weeks – again we feel for our colleagues affected at our sister College. So while we always appreciate your prayers and support, at this time especially, we ask that you remember us, our University colleagues at UWS, and our colleagues at Baptist Colleges around the UK.
