Join us at SBC for a College Community Seminars. On Thursday October 3rd between 4:00pm and 5:00pm, we’ll be hosting Professor David Gushee – Director of the Center for Theology and Public Life at Mercer University (USA). The seminar will take the form of a Question and Answer forum centering around Pastoral Responses to Today’s Challenges.
We welcome David to the College as part of our 125th Anniversary celebrations and we’re grateful that he’s agreed to take part in a question and answer time ahead of his lecture on the same evening. Professor Gushee authored Kingdom Ethics, a well-known book to recent graduates of SBC, and teaches Christian Ethics at Mercer University. He has also authored Righteous Gentiles of the Holocaust, The Sacredness of Human Life, Changing Our Mind, and Moral Leadership for a Divided Age. We expect this seminar to be lively and informative as Professor Gushee helps us to think through some of the difficult pastoral and ethical issues in society today.
After the seminar there will be a short break with refreshments (tea/ coffee) at the College or the opportunity to grab a bite to eat in Paisley before the evening lecture begins at 6pm.
We’re really excited to be have David join us for this afternoon seminar and we hope that you will join us. These seminars are open to alumni, friends, and supporters of the College, as well as the wider public who feel they would benefit from engaging with the topic. We do hope you’ll join us.
