BD (Hons) – How to apply

Online application

To apply for full-time or part-time study on the BD (Hons) Theology and Pastoral Studies at the Scottish Baptist College, please complete an application enquiry form online

(If not possible then an editable application form can be download and sent by email to the College Administrator).

With this enquiry form it will give us all the information we need to advise you on the best way forward. It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. After we receive your application we’ll be in contact soon afterwards to arrange a follow-up conversation or request any further information that we require.

Entry requirements

You can find out the qualification requirements here (scroll to the bottom of that page). Not only do we take standard school qualification we can accommodate non-traditional entry qualifications applicants too, so please do get in contact if you have any queries.

You might also want to consider funding and finance – information can be found here.

Visit Us!!

A good way to figure out if studying theology is for you is to come and visit the College in Paisley – we’re just 15 minutes from Glasgow by car or train and set within the University of the West of Scotland’s Paisley campus. We can arrange for you to meet staff members for an informal conversation without any pressure or commitment! Contact Graham on graham.meiklejohn@uws.ac.uk if you would like to start the conversation.

Modular Study

If you are looking to apply for Modular Study – that is applying to take just one class as a taster or as a special interest class – then please use the same process as above indicating which class you are applying for on the form. Modular Study is a great way to apply to the College if you do not have the requisite formal qualifications or are simply wishing to ‘test the waters’ before committing on further studies.

One Year Study

If you are looking to apply to study for just one year, then again we use the same process as above indicating on your application form that you wish to study for the Certificate in Theology and Pastoral Studies. Coming to study at the College for one year is perfect for a gap year where you’ll achieve an accredited qualification in theology. It can also be a good way to start studying and be used to access further years of study.
