The Scottish Baptist College is a small, dynamic community of learners in the area of theology. The College was founded in 1894 to provide trained ministry from the Baptist churches of Scotland, and that remains the core activity of the College. There is, however, diversity among the student body reflecting a number of Christian traditions, and college staff are supportive of each student whatever their background.

The College is currently situated within the University of the West of Scotland, with whom it has a collaborative agreement. The University validates the teaching programme offered by Scottish Baptist College, and provides staff and student support for learning and teaching. The College has freedom to teach theology from a confessional standpoint, but values the relationship with the University.

The Scottish Baptist College is dependent upon a committed and creative staff, including modular lecturers, and support workers. In this context, lecturing staff are required to bridge between the world of the academy and contemporary forms of ministry.
