Join us at SBC for a College Community Seminars. On THURSDAY 2 November between 1:45pm and 3:00pm, we’ll be joined by Dr Parush Parushev from Bulgaria who will be thinking about leadership in different cultural contexts from his experience with Communism through to his work in theology.
Parush Parushev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and grew surrounded by Communist ideals and practice. His ideological beliefs were challenged by the witness of believers’ communities in Poland, the Netherlands and Bulgaria. He committed his life to Christ in the Baptist Church in Sofia in 1990.
He obtained his first PhD in 1977 in Applied Mathematics at the Technical University in St. Petersburg. His second PhD is from Fuller Theological Seminary in California, and this time he studied theology, with specialist areas in Christian ethics and moral philosophy.
Having held a number of academic positions at colleges and universities across Europe and the USA, one of his most significant marks in the world of theology was his service as the Academic Dean, and later as Rector, of the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague. He is now Rector of St. Trivelius Institute in Sofia. (Adapted and updated from the Church Missions Society website)
These seminars are open to alumni, friends, and supporters of the College, as well as the wider public who feel they would benefit from engaging with the topic. For further information please contact Graham Meiklejohn on firstname.lastname@example.org
